R-9 huses, one ot the conveniences of a modern dcmocracv, covered an estimated 200,000 miles this vear and transported 2,750 students a day. This was all done through the work of I9 drivers. Mr. Vincent Under Secretaries Stuckmever. bus supervisor, stated that the huses traveled 1,000 miles a dav in the extensive area of the district. R-9 ranks among the top in the state in having its huses in perfect order. Kneeling: Miller, Dunnegan, Huegel, Jennewein, Von Talge. Three very important people at Mehlville are Mrs. Florence Franlie, Mr. Lawrence Johnson. and Mr. Llovd llerron. ilihev are the custodians and keep the halls ol' democracv clean and neat.
