Some credit for such a proud past is undoubtedly due to wise choice of spon sors and ofHcers who were willing to strive to ward perfection in class activities. This year the juniors re-elected Johnny Westhouse for his second term as president, Dick Moersch as vice-president, Betty Sneed as secretary, Mar- ilyn Altenbernd as treasurer, and Bill Alten- bernd as Council representative The sponsors of the previous year, Mr William Schmidt and Mrs Martha Freeman, were again chosen As timid Freshmen the class presented its first contribution to Mehlville social life a Val entine s Dance That year they also established the precedent of an annual spring excursion by visiting Springfield, Ill., and the reconstructed village at New Salem State Park.
