SENIGR PROPHECY I was flashing through space by rocket ship in this dazzling new world of 1970, taking a sentimental journey back to Mehlville. When I asked the time of our arrival, you can imagine the shock I received when Pilot Lorraine Spear, the girl who was so interested in the airplane fad, turned and said that we would land in a few minutes. When I set my feet on my native soil, I was confronted by a character in overalls who was refueling the air vehicle. Why, June Franke, I wouldn't have known you! I said. It seems that June gave up her business career and became interested in Shell products While we were talking a queer fellow in purple satin knee breeches offered to take my bags to a taxi He was such an odd looking creature that I remarked about it June explained that it was none other than Leroy Flamm model for fam ous fashion designer Lois Grassmger and guinea pig to her whims As I stepped down into the luxurious Speed mobile, a new Jet propelled car invented by Raymond Johnson, the driver said Where to lady? RALPH MILLER ELLEN MUEHLHAUSER WILLIAM GEBHARDTJ DORIS ALEXANDER BOB LOHMAN As battle-scarred participants in the annual duel between ignorance and learning, the 1948-49 Junior Class of Mehlville High boasts a colorful past. Some credit for such a proud past is undoubtedly due to wise choice of spon sors and ofHcers who were willing to strive to ward perfection in class activities. This year the juniors re-elected Johnny Westhouse for his second term as president, Dick Moersch as vice-president, Betty Sneed as secretary, Mar- ilyn Altenbernd as treasurer, and Bill Alten- bernd as Council representative The sponsors of the previous year, Mr William Schmidt and Mrs Martha Freeman, were again chosen As timid Freshmen the class presented its first contribution to Mehlville social life a Val entine s Dance That year they also established the precedent of an annual spring excursion by visiting Springfield, Ill., and the reconstructed village at New Salem State Park. In 1948 the state capital at Jefferson City was visited by P1190 T'Zx't'llfj'
