HOMER RAGLE He was born November 18 1907 m Snyder He went to Lawton OK w1th h1s famlly 1n h1s early chlldhood and l1ved there unt1l he was ln h1s mrddle teens H1s father was a m1n1ster and the famlly l1ved 1n varlous towns 1n Texas after thelr return from Oklahoma Ragle completed hrs hrgh school educa t1on at Megargel and then attended ACC He transferred to North Texas State College where he met Mlss Leona Norrls a student m the college They were marrled August 19 1933 and l1ved ln Megargel durmg the flrst four years of the1r marrred l1fe They moved to Taft where he was employed by a lumber company He worked 1n the Taft Post Offlce for Taft Cotton O11 Co Reynolds Metals Co and Prrtchard and Abbott before dec1d1ng to go back to college and prepare hlmself for a school teachlng career He enrolled for h1s senlor year at A 8: I College where h1S younger son Verne Ragle was a freshman student He was a member of Alpha Chl at A 8a I College He recelved h1s B A degree ln 1960 and later returned for one summer for speclal courses m mathemat1cs He and Mrs Ragle taught ln Allce and then returned to Taft where she had taught durmg the years he worked 1n that town They taught m Taft schools for two years after whxch Mrs Ragle accepted a f1rst grade pos1t1on xn Odem and he taught for two years 1n Mathls He accepted the math posrtlon 1n the Smton school system ln September 1965 They made thexr home ln Odem from the t1me they left the Taft schools Ragle was a member of the Church of Chrlst and at the t1me of h1s death was an elder 1n Park Avenue Church of Chrlst 1n Odem He dled January 28, 1966 and h1s wnfe Leona dled ln July 1981 They had two boys and one g1rl 1 ' 9 9 3 ' 7 ' 9 . , ., -a a 1 s ' 9 3 , . , . TO OUR DEAR FRIEND LILLIE FAYE QBABEJ BROWN Babe Brown was born near Megargel Texas She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs H E Brown Mr Brown was a farmer and was the lirst Postmaster of 'Vlegargel Post Office Don t have the birth date of Babe Brown but was probably 1910 or 1911 She spent her entire school days in Megargel School Not long after Graduation she married Dave Hughes a musician and actor Red Jones a nightclub ow ner in West Texas or New Mexico Babe and Red had one son Babe lived in England at one time where her son was living and working Babe is now in a nursing home somewhere in California and her mind and body have deteriorated to where she doesn t know who she is or where she is fwrztten bv O V Hampton! 1 . , . . , .
