go to school 1n Megargel Kenneth graduated ln 1945 He IS marrled and had three sons but the oldest drowned 1n 1965 Jay and I stayed 1n Megargel the summer of 1945 then we moved to Horatlo Arkansas where we d1d farmmg and ranchlng for several years We also had a laundry there In 1951 we moved back to Megargel Jay agam worked 1n the Ollfleld productxon Mother passed away m 1947 so I kept house and helped Daddy Wllh hrs gardemng and chlcken and egg project Daddy passed away rn 1960 Jay and I then moved to Archer Cxty 1n 1963 After Jay retrred In Aprrl of 1964 we moved to Mltchell Oregon then 1n 1965 we moved to Pr1nev1lle Oregon where Jay passed away ln 1967 He IS burled m Pr1nev1lle Cemetery I worked 1n a cafe m Pr1nev1lle most of the t1me that I l1ved there I met Clarence Hughbanks at the cafe where I worked and marrred h1m on Jan 23 1969 He was the cook there Clarence had one daughter whlch I never had the pr1v1lege of knowlng and he has two lovely granddaughters that are the greatest Both of them l1ve rn WHSh1HgIOH state In 1971 we declded to take a long vacatlon We went from Pr1nev1lle to see all of our relatlves and also a frlend ln Brownvllle Texas We also went over m Old MCXICO and toured around We travelled most of Arkansas and dlfferent places rn Oklahoma and Kansas We bought an old run down cafe just short of the Kansas l1ne flxed rt up and got ll started and I guess the old boy thought we were makmg too much money so we sold lt Moved to Medford Ok and drd the same thmg there Then went to Rmgwood and Canton Ok where we sold and ret1red and moved to Wakrta Ok where I strll l1ve Clarence dled March 23 1977 He IS buned 1n Rest Haven Cemetery 1n Anthony Kansas That IS where he was born and ralsed My address IS P O Box 287, Waklta Ok 73771 My phone number IS 14051 594 2914 , . 9 9 , . JIM J. TAYLOR Jim J. Taylor was born to Jim J. Taylor, Sr. and Grace Taylor, in Olney, Texas December 25 1908. Jim J. Sr. died in 1909. Moved to a farm at Megargel at age four with mother and stepfather Joe and Grace Dunnam Megargel schools were only schools attended He went to work in the oil fields after graduation He married Irene Crawford May 15 1931 and they have three children Mur1elCG1bsonJ Donald and Keith 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren J 1m lived and worked in Wichita Falls and Archer City until 1952 He moved to Monahans with Reno Oil Company and retired in 1975 Jim s address IS 101 Nevada Monahans Texas 79756 Phone 19151 943 5624 MARY FRANCIS WALSH I am Mary Francis Walsh Thompson I was born March 30 1911 in Murray Texas Young County My father James Sherrod Walsh was a farmer and my mother Allie Clark November ll 1918 My father bought our property in 1917 and it had a school on this land So that was the first school I attended Later the school was consolidated into the Megargel School District In 1919 I attended school in Megargel with my two brothers Sherrod Thompson Walsh who passed away in December 1979 and Silas Lee Walsh who still lives ln Megargel I finished high school in May 1929 In September of the same year I attended North Texas State University In January 1931 I met L D Thompson in the library at North Texas We became engaged later on that year In 1931 1932 I taught expression Cspeechl and had 20 23 students in my class in Megargel L D and I were married June 20 1932 At the time of our marriage my husband was a fireman In 1934 L D began working for the American Na tional Insurance Company out of Galveston.
