SENIOR CLASS HISTORY We have now come to the end of our high school days and it is the time to look back over the four happy years. Let us share our men- ories with you, our parents, teachers, and friends. We entered Medway High School as green freshmen in the year of l9b9. Our class was made up or fourteen students. During the year Evangeline Rudge, Wallace Thompson and Durwood Thompson left us. we started out the year by electing our class officers. Jeanne Belanger was elected President, Harriet York as Vice President, Phyllis Powers as Secretary, Gladys Thompson as'Treasurer, and Harriet York was elected as representative of the Student Government. The biggest event during our first year of high school was Fresh- men Reception. Although we were all very nervous, we survived the ordeal.. It ls something that we will never forget. During this year we held our first dance which started out our class treasury. . . ' , Basketball season cane, claiming four members of our class, namely: Ruth McLaughlin, Harriet Ybrk,'Jeanne Belanger, and Norma Stanley. Gladys Th npson was ecorekeeper and Janice McLaughlin was manager. J The next fall we came back happy end refreshed as silly sophomores We had eleven menbers.1n our class this year. Janice London Joined' us, but lert before the year was over. When we elected class officers ,Gladys Thompson was President, Ruth McLaughlin as Vice President, and Harriet York as Secretary and Treasurer. Jeanne Belanger was our Student Government representative. During our Sophomore year we went on a trip to Augusta. We had s very good time and visited some very interesting places. . During this year we also held Freshmen Reception to extract our pound of flesh from the poor Freshmen. we really enjoyed ourselves, but I don't think the Freshmen were too jubilant. Basketball was again the major sport with Janice, Ruth,Harrlet, Jeanne, and Norma taxing part. September 1951 round us back again as Jolly Juniors. We were all determined to make this a very memorable year in our lives. This year on our retunn we had only nine members left. Jeanne left us to go to East Milllnocket. Our officers were elected as Eol1owe:. President, Phyllis Powers, Vice President, Jack York, Secretary and Traasurerg Harriet York. Janice McLaughlin and Gladys Thompson were our Student Council representatives. ' we sponsored a social featuring Curley O'Br1an. Basketball again claimed Ruth, Janice, Harriet, Gladys, and 0 5 During our Junior year we went on a trip to Fort Knox. The day was rainy, but we made the best of it. Thus ended our Junior year of high school and our hearts were full of 'Joy as we left for our summer vacation. Now we are up to our lest and best year, the Senior year. We came back happy but sorry to think that our school days were econ to end. .,5 our crass officers this your wore Rota Davis, Uresident, Nofne Stanley, Vice President, and Gladys Thompson as Secretary-undo treasurer.t Ruth McLaughlin, Patricia York, und Harriet York were , ,L . , our Student Council Representatives.
