We the members of the Senior Class of '2'5 wish to extend our hearty con- gratulations to the Class of '27 to their work done in our dear old M. H. S. We have come to the conclusion, after so long a time, that our high school work is the first great step toward success. There we learned to follow that winding path of life and to overcome those trials and troubles at every curve. May the work within that dear old institution forever be successful. -Mildred Davis. TO OLD MEDORA HIGH:- As we now review the scenes of by-gone years, how old familiar faces rise up and haunt our vision with their well remembered features, companions of our earlier years endeared to us by many a tie. We tender our thanks for the many encourage- ments received, procuring for us kind and efficient instructors and pleasant surround- ings. To you we feel indebted for much that we are or may be. At times discourage- ments have assailed us, but as a good cause makes a stout heart we have pushed on, and in future we hold in grateful remembrance the yesterday of our school years. Class of 1921 Dorothy Henderson Chicago, Ill. Robert Eshom Medora, Ind. -Georgia Hall. Since our graduation, the fair one of our class of two has broken the rules of arithmetic by making one plus one, one. Her classmate has forgotten-or doesn't use-the principle from geometry that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, for on a moonlight Saturday or Sunday night he often takes the lead in a round-a-bout journey in seeing his puella home. We have forgotten the Latin and As we venture on through Grammar rules, but we think we are co rrect in this line. Such is life, dear Editor, and what graduates have learned in school they oft- en forget or fall to use after graduation. 'Tis a shame after our teachers had work- ed so patiently with us. - Bob, Class of 1922 Grace Ufohnsonl Lyons Detroit, Mich. Hazel Beem Medora, Ind. Dwight Hill Indianapolis, Ind. - Society - On October fifteenth, Louise Davis entertained at her home the members of the Freshman class. Everyone was in a hilarious mood and the evening seemed to go on wings, it was so filled with games, music, and dancing. Near the close of the evening light refreshments were served. Christmas Party Wednesday night, December twenty- second, 1926 the teachers of Carr Town- ship met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Weddell for their annual Christ- mas Party. Th-ose present were as fol- lows:-Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Weddell, Professor and Mrs. R. R. Goss, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Brewer, Mr. and Mrs. M, F. Davis and daughter Helen, Mr. Collin Lewis, Mr. Henry McHargue, and the Misses Gladys Hess, Helen Brother, Roberta Wright, Allegra Roller, Irene McClintock, Ida Sutherland, Hazel Beem Elizabeth Parker, Edna Beem, M16 Turney, and Mildred Davis. The Christmas idea was carried out throughout the entire evening. One in- teresting feature was the opening of the grab bags which contained the ex- change gifts of the teachers. Refresh- ments consisting of candies, pop corn balls, nuts and fruit punch were served in an attractive manner. During the latter part of the evening a beautiful gold watch and chain was presented to Mr. Davis by the teachers as a token of their appreciation of his interest in the schools and teachers while trustee. Mr. Davis responded with words fitting the occasion and then presented each of the ladies a box of chocolates and the gentlemen a box of cigars. Because of the good time, the teach- ers decided to organize into the Cair Township Teachers' Club and have a social meeting once each month during the remaining school term. E At eight o'clock, on the evening of January the twentieth, the Carr Town- ship Teachers' Club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Wright. The host- esses of the evening were: Misses Ro- berta Wright, Mary Louise Zollman, Hazel Beem, and Irene McClintock. Games, contests, and music furnished amusements for the guests. Refresh- ments consisting of cake and ice cream, furthering the color scheme of pink and white, were served. After which the guests departed, declaring the hostesses charming entertainers. Hostesses for the February Teachers' Tarty were: Misses Allegra Roller, Ed- na Beem, Mae Turney, Mildred Davis, and Elizabeth Parker. The party was held at the home of the latter. The dec- orations, games, and refreshments were in keeping with St. Valentine's .Day. On the night of February 12, 1927, Ruby Motsinger gave a Valentine Party for some of her friends from Senior. Junior, and Sophomore classes. Cars met in town at the hour of eight and drove out to Ruby's country home. The even- ing was joyfully spent with many games, dances, and songs. Light re- freshments were served, after which the guests departed at a late hour, eager for another party. On Wednesday evening, March the ninth, a banquet was given the basket ball teams of Jackson County by the Brownstown Commercial Club in the Auditorium of the Brownstown High School building. The purpose of this meeting was to leave in the minds ef the players, coaches, and principals of the various teams a spirit of sportsman- -5 0-
