SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS Dr. Robert V. Cogger To the Class of 1972: In searching for the most desirable paths for happiness now and in the future, you will find that your yearbook theme provides a challenge for each of you to Hstep to the music which he hears. Each person must learn to recognize the tone and tempo of the drumbeat best suited to himself. In other words, each person must learn to know himself, for in this manner one is able to deter- mine his goals in life and how he may best achieve them. To hear the drumbeat clearly may be difficult in much of our everyday living. In his quest for the meaning of his own life Tho- reau turned again and again to nature, for here he found peace of mind, beauty, quietness and inspiration. May each of you hear that music which will provide meaningful living for you and for your fellow man. Dre Robert v. Cogge, Superintendent of Schools
