Hp' - L flew.: F . p, ua:--...- THROUGH OUR TWELVE YEARS lt seems remarkable how in the past decade and a fifth, we, the CLASS OF '64-, have changed. Remember that wonderful year 1951? This is the year we entered kindergarten. It was at this time we started to share with our classmates building blocks, rhythm sticks, and the sandbox. As we grew older, we enjoyed making papier-mache monsters, as wellias dancing o-ur favorites the Virginia Reel and 4'Patty-cake Polka. Did you know that we were the first fourth grade in the 0.0. Elementary School? Remember how we studied to the rhythm of the workmen's drills, the first year or so? At this time our '4Benny Goodmansl' and Isaac Stems got their start in the band. They say that the water was never wetter than at the sixth grade swimming party, and gee, the floor at the roller rink was hard! Our last days in grade school were climaxecl by our first big dance at graduation time. Now the wonderful years were 1958 through 1960, when we Ltook over' the Jr. High School. Our sharing things had come to a halt as feuds over boy and girl friends began. Our social life developed as we attended more dances and school functions. Dances sweeping Medina were the Bop and the Stroll Remember the c'Queen of Hearts fJan Phinneyj? Who could forget those treacherous walks to the cafeteria and how we almost needed Noah's Ark to cross the field in the spring. Our recollections would never allow us to forget Service Organization, Spinster's Club, Bachelor's Club, and most of all, Mr. Oliver. Perhaps it was during this time we matured the most. The boys finally began to by-pass the girls in growth and their squeaky voices became deeper. The year 1960 saw the CLASS OF '64 entering the last four trying years of school in Medina. Like all other Freshmen, we experienced the trampling and razzing of the Seniors, with exception of a few who were captured by that certain upper-class charm. Even more important, our class increased in size to the number 180 with the transferring parochial students. For the most part we had good times these years as we enjoyed watching or participating in interscholastic sports and numerous school functions. We had our first voice in government with the election of S.A. Officers, resulting not only in fine officials but also swell campaign parties. Our class has passed all kinds of survival tests. We've lived through elephant jokes, the uTwist, uShimmy, and the Beatles. Let's not forget the operettas, we never managed to participate in, the Horizons that never came out, Mr. Morse's pleas, and the 19 Regents Scholarships won-a record never equalled by any other M.I'I.S. class. Through our 12 years these events have been transposed into memories-which now take second place to only one thought: Graduation Day, June 21, 19611-.
