Among them was the intensive Dress Right Campaign sponsored by the Horizon staff with the cooperation of the faculty, administration, and stu- dent body. Posters were everywhere advertising the campaign. For several weeks the Horizon was dedicated to editorials and articles about the effort. An assembly was held for the school and commu- nity showing the correct way to dress for every occasion. joe and Mary Ann were the examples of the wrong way to dress for school or any event. Although they actually never look this way, they were able to effectively show the absurdities of bad dress. The extensive campaign had many far-reaching results and will not be forgotten for its good influence on Medina High School. General Motors' Assembly. Saturday Night Recreation. Graduation, 1957! From the long-awaited seats reserved for occupants of 300, the seniors also have witnessed along with the rest of MHS the enjoyable assemblies this year, among them the science program presented by General Motors. Saturday night recreation offered food, fun, work, and money for the class of '58 as well as the rest of the student body. Eligibility and injuries crippled the Mustangs the major Part of their campaign. They played hard and deserved a lot of credit to keep coming back and finish- ing with a better than .500 sea- son. The big highlight of the sea- son was their victory over Lewis- ton-Porter by 14 points. Lewis- ton was undefeated at that time, and had been champions for the past four years in our league. The four high point getters for Mustangs were Dick Zielinski with 177 pointsg Dick Malte 151 points, L. Harvey 120 pointsg and Keith Holman 108 points. Other key players were Gene Monacell, Bob Di Guilio, Roger Baldwin, and Robert Bramer. Dick Zielinski set a record for rebounds of 174 points for 15 games played. Mustang sup- porters will long remember the fine games pitched by Don Miller and Keith Hol- man. Close games were common-the team played 8 games in which the mar- gin was one run-4 of which were 1 to 0 ball games. In keeping with t.he rest of the season, the Mustangs won the Niagara-Orleans Championship in their last game at Lew-Port by a 1 to 0 score. They thereby earned the right to enter the Sectional play-off where they were defeated by Ton- awanda in a close game. The Mustangs of 1958 will miss Miller, Wolk, Hellwig, Kaderli, Serve, and Furness who were a great help in compiling a fine record of 12 wins and 3 losses. I. V. Taking attendance, spotting in tumbling and trampo- lining, refereeing in deck tennis, volleyball, and basketball are but a few of their many jobs. Always identified by their grey blazers and cheery smiles, these girls have made friendliness and helpfulness their motto. - Mr. Loughlin, like Mrs. Acer, also has an invaluable aid in his gym classes. This is the Boys' Student Leaders group. Although they do not wear grey blazers, the boys do have the admirable qualities of friendliness and cheerfulness wihch have made them popular at M.H.S.
