Teaching is a year-round profession Faculty members for the 1968-69 school year at Medina Sen- ior High School bring to the students of the district years of ex- perience and advanced training as evidenced in a recent survey. Thirty-two colleges and universities are represented by staff members. The ranks of the sixteen members now holding Mas- ter degrees should be swelled by at least five by September since several teachers plan to acquire the added degree this summer. Our educators also bring a broad background knowledge of foreign nations to our classrooms. From the European coun- tries of England, France, Germany, and Austria, to Cuba and Mexico in the Caribbean, to the Philippines in the Pacific, comes first-hand information from faculty members who have travelled or resided there. Summer, while it is a time for some to pursue further training, or a vacation, is also a time for staff members to add other skills and knowledges to their credentials by taking jobs as commercial painters, cafeteria cashiers, food processors, youth counselors, resort managers, or fair program service managers. Our students are, indeed, truly blessed by a faculty with ex- perience, training, and a wide general background. Thus, this faculty fs well qualified to lead the youth of MHS to accomplish their lofty goals. Today ' s youth lost a friend and inter- ested teacher with the passing of Mrs. Keck last autumn. Mrs. Keck, who so ably and graciously substituted for Mrs. Hold- ridge in Latin and English when school began last September received injuries in a fall. A short time later, death unexpect- edly claimed this vivacious and young-in- spirit teacher. Students at Medina Senior High School will surely miss her cheerful smile, her unselfish, helpful attitude, and her sincere interest in them. Yes, today ' s youth has indeed lost a friend in the passing of Mrs. Keck. 30 Carl Schusterman Mechanical Drawing B.A., Ohio Un iversity Margaret Muren German B.A., Notre Dame College Jack Jaskol Diversified Cooperative Training B.S., Kent State University
