' JOHN PALKO John Palko, one of our more silent athletes, has played on the school basketball and baseball teams for three years. Moreover, he qualified for Letterman ' s Club in his first year of high school. As a junior, John became a football player in which he received the trophy for the most improved player on the squad. Acting as co- captain, John played varsity football in his final year of high school. ' ELLEN PETERSON Ellen Peterson took part in Y-Teens, FNA, Glee Club, and French Club while attending Cuyahoga Falls High School. After coming to Medina in her second year of high school, she was just as active in clubs. Ellen immediately took up membership in GAA, Y-Teens, and CAA acting as vice-chancellor in her senior year and adding FTA, GLC, Dramatics Club, Pep Club, and Math Club as secretary-treasur- er in her senior year. Obtaining a seat on Senior Council, Ellen made honor roll status as a sophomore and the merit roll in the following year. JEFF POST Jeff Post, our boy with the hot sticks, has drummed out the beat for Marching and Concert Band and Stardusters throughout his high school career. Taking up the sport of tennis in his sophomore year, he continued playing on the tennis team repeatedly for the next two years. In the eleventh and twelfth grades Jeff was a full-fledged member of Letterman ' s Club and also Dramatics Club. Taking an interest in his studies brought about his placement on the merit roll as a sophomore. Jeff is also interested in golf, girls, and model railroads. BEV POTTS Bev Potts is quite an energetic worker at any type of job. She was secretary-treasurer of the Spanish Club as a sophomore while also taking up membership in Audio Club and FTA. In the eleventh grade Bev was elected to the office of secretary for Audio Club plus taking part in FTA, the MEDINIAN staff, Math Club, and CAA. Although Bev has been very active during her high school career, she maintained a B-average and thus qualified for merit roll in both her sophomore and junior years. 27

SHIRLEY MOUCHA Shirley Moucha, a soft-spoken individual, came to Medina High in her junior year. As a sophomore, Shirley went to Lodi High School where she participated in Y-Teens. In her senior year she joined Medina ' s Y-Teen group. Maintaining high grades as a sophomore, Shirley was entitled to be on the Lodi honor roll. She always finds time to enjoy either bowling, skating, or reading. GARET MUNGER Garet Munger has played in Marching Band all three years of senior high school. In tenth and eleventh grade he played his tuba in Concert Band. As a sophomore, Garet worked with the wrestling team as a manager. In his two final years of school he became a full- fledged matman. Valuing good grades, Garet ' s name appeared on the merit roll in both tenth and eleventh grades. SUE NEWCOMER Sue Newcomer has dealt primarily in the different activities of the school ' s music department. She has been the Choir pianist, in Marching and Concert Band, and in Orchestra all three years. In the tenth grade Sue was in Girls ' Glee Club and was promoted to Choralettes in both her junior and senior years. As a senior, she was elected treasurer of the Choir ' s Board of Directors. MARK OVERHOLT Mark Overholt, a real camera bug, was on the school ' s tennis team, in Spanish Club, and Dramatics Club as a sophomore. In his senior year Mark was selected to be the head photographer on the MEDINIAN staff. 26

JACK PURDUM Jack Purdum, a very sports-minded person, is a regular ham when it comes to amateur radio. Jack was on the football and basket- ball teams continually for three seasons. In his junior year Jack earned membership in Letterman ' s Club and also made the golf team this same year. As a senior, he continued to play on the golf team. In his second year of high school, Jack ' s grades ranked high enough to qualify him for the merit roll. JILL PURDUM Jill Purdum, quite an energetic individual, was a reserve cheer- leader in her sophomore year. Acquiring a three-year membership in GAA, Y-Teens, and Dramatics Club, Jill was on the Girls ' Basket- ball Team in both her sophomore and junior years. In eleventh grade she joined Choir, Choralettes, and Thespians. As a senior, Jill played the bells in Marching and Concert Band. ANTHEA QUICK Anthea Quick, more commonly known to her friends as Andi, has continually been a member of Y-Teens throughout senior high school. As a sophomore, Andi participated in Marching and Con- cert Band and also Dramatics Club. In the eleventh grade she con- tinued to be in Dramatics but also became a member of GLC. Reaching her final year of high school, she renewed her membership in GLC while becoming active in CAA. Acquiring a high scholastic average in her junior year, Andi ' s name appeared on the merit roll. CAROL REED Carol Reed, a vivacious individual, was selected as one of the reserve cheerleaders in her sophomore year. She joined the ranks of the Musical Bees for a three-year hitch. In the eleventh grade Carol held the position of co-secretary of Band and in her senior year vice-president of Band. In her two remaining years of high school Carol took part in the activities of GLC. Through hard work Carol was able to be on the highly-prized honor roll in the tenth grade and on the merit roll in the eleventh. 28
