PAUL CARLSON Paul Carlson has principally taken an interest in the music department of Medina High. In Marching and Concert Band Paul played the tuba while also playing the violin in Orchestra all three years of high school. Concentrating on his studies, Paul earned the right to be placed on the merit roll as a sophomore. Music, reading, and horseback riding are his three main interests. MARY McNEAL Mary McNeal has continued to be in Marching and Concert Band, GAA, Y-Teens, and Dramatics Club throughout senior high school. Working for many hours on Dramatics projects entitled Mary to become a Thespian in the eleventh grade while also being elected treasurer of Dramatics Club. Reaching her last year of high school, Mary took interest in threp new clubs — FTA, GLC, and Pep Club — besides taking over the office of Dramatics vice-president. She was rewarded for her scholastic accomplishments as a sophomore by placing on the merit roll. BARBARA CHASE Barb Chase, a gal full of vigor, has repeatedly been inter- ested in Y-Teens. In the tenth grade she took part in two musical groups — Glee Club and Orchestra. Playing in Orchestra again as a junior, Barb joined in the projects of Math Club. Reaching the status of a senior, she again took part in Math Club, but was also in Pep Club, GAA, Senior Council, and on the MEDINIAN ' S adver- tising staff. In her final year of high school Barb was elected sec- retary of Y-Teens and secretary-treasurer of Pep Club. As a sopho- more, she strived to be placed on the school ' s merit roll. » KAY CHIDSEY Kay Chidsey, a pert little senior, has played an important part in Y-Teens throughout senior high school. Retaining membership throughout tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades in Y-Teens, Kay was elected vice-president in her junior year and president in her senior year. She added three new clubs to her schedule in her junior year, among them being GLC, GAA, and Dramatics while also being chosen one of the five peppy reserve cheerleaders. Arriving at the final year of high school, Kay continued to be in GLC while joining GAA and representing Y-Teens in Student Council. In her first year of senior high schoo l Kay met the scholastic requirements needed to be on the merit roll. 9

BOB BLOOM Bob Bloom has been a faithful member of band all three years of high school. In Marching Band he played the tuba and in Concert Band played the clarinet. In tenth grade Bob went out for track. As a junior, he was accredited for his academic efforts by being placed on the merit roll. For many years Bob has been interested in photography, the intrigue of the F. B. I., and the study of law. JIM BROOKINS Jim Brookins is a newcomer to Medina this year. Before coming to Medina High, he attended Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Although Jim does not take part in any extra-curricu- lar activities, he does enjoy books, music, and keeping time with a set of bongo drums. JUDY BROWN Judy Brown, a perky Poe inhabitant, likes to spend her spare hours sewing. In the tenth grade Judy was in GAA in which she had a perfect attendance record throughout the entire year. FHA also attracted her attention in this first year at MHS. Continuing to take part in FHA in her junior year, Judy held the position of treasurer of this club. As a senior, Judy moved up to the office of FHA pres- ident and automatically became a member of the Student Council. SHARON BURRER Sharon Burrer, a soft-spoken individual, has been in a variety of activities throughout her high school career. Sharon ' s special interest in music led her to take part in Girls ' Glee Club in the tenth grade. FHA also drew her interest during her first year in senior high school. When Sharon became a junior, she was promoted to a seat in Choir while also attending Dramatics Club. In her senior year of high school she continued to be in Dramatics and Choir but also took part in Pep Club, Y-Teens, and Choralettes. Maintaining a B-average as a junior, she was on the merit roll. 8

ROBERT CHRISTY Robert Christy, a hot rod enthusiast, pursued the sport of wrest- ling during his sophomore and senior year. In his three years of high school, Bob was eligible to be in the Letterman ' s Club. ED CLAPP Ed Clapp, one of the remaining Chathamites still attending Medina, has been chiefly active in FFA. Besides signing up for a three-year membership in FFA, Ed held a three-year membership in the Letterman ' s Club. As a sophomore and junior, he was on the basketball team, and during his last year of high school he served as basketball manager. Acting as FFA news reporter in his junior year, Ed graduated to the position of president in his senior year. Since he held this title, he was a member of Student Council. JAN CLEMENT Jan Clement, a real gal-on-the-go, has been a member of Y-Teens all three years. In her sophomore year, Jan held the office of class secretary while joining Concert and Marching Band. As a junior, she was appointed Y-Teen historian besides taking an active part in CAA, GAA, Math Club, and Girls ' Basketball Team. Having reached her last year of high school, Jan added a few more clubs, including Audio and Pep Clubs, along with GLC. In regard to her academic achievements, Jan faired well with a place on the merit roll during her first two years of high school. KAREN COOK Karen Cook, a peppy little redhead, has been very interested in the activities of MHS. She held a three-year membership in GAA while joining Girls ' Glee Club in her sophomore year. In her second year of high school Pinky , as she is sometimes called, took part in Y-Teens besides working on the MEDINIAN staff and playing on the Girls ' Basketball Team. Continuing with Y-Teens in her final and most active year, she participated in CAA, Student Council, and was on the MEDINIAN staff as copy editor. Being full of vim and vigor, Karen was elected president of Pep Club as a senior. Busy Bee that she was, she valued good grades, thus earning honor roll status in her sophomore year and a place on the merit roll in her junior year. 10
