We elected our class officers and under their capable leadership we sponsored a fine party for the entire high school. During this year, also, we initiated the idea of having a Freshman-Sophomore Hop. In 1948 we came to school as Sophomores. Ronnie Hall was elected presi- dent of the class. During this year we sponsored an all high dance and also attended the second annual Freshman-Sophomore Hop. Then in 1949 we came back as Juniors to begin our busiest year in high school. Caroline Keiper was elected editor of the Medinian and under her capable guidance we put out one of the best annuals ever for the senior class. Also during this year we chose our class rings, put on a big Junior Carnival, and had one of the best proms for the seniors ever attended in M.H.S. In 1950 we started the last leg of our long but not tedious journey through M.H.S. This year saw some of the fellows in our class on the championship football team. Ronnie Hagquist, a newcomer from New York, was elected our president; Leonard Morse was elected student council president; and Mary Houseman was chosen homecoming queen with Barb Hess and LaRue Hamer as her attendants. A bout the Juniors The Junior class became Freshmen in the fall of 1948. We immediately made ourselves known by taking an active part in the activities and in the sports department. We sponsored a number of very good parties for the high school. One of the best was when we helped to sponsor the Freshman-Sophomore Strut in 1950. We had a very fine Junior carnival and we put on one of the best Jr. Sr. ' s that Medina High School ever had. This year we also received our class rings and published a fine annual. ’THEY ALSO SERVE WHO ONLY STAND AND WAIT MILTON ROW ONE: Jerroldyne Armbrust, Lily Jean Baker, Glenna Cottingham, Nancy Adams, Joyce Adams, Pat Browning, Marge Britton, Richard Coe, Tommy Biegel. About the Sophomores We, the class of 1953, started our second term of our high school career on September 13, 1950. This makes us realize how very quickly a term can pass and we intend to enjoy every minute of our education and good times furnished for the rest of our years here a t M. H. S. After the election of officers, we settled down to become better members of this school and to co-operate with the other classes and all the activities of this past year. Our first class meeting was held on September 15, and we elected Bill Golder president. Our members have already made their presence felt in many worthwhile activities M. H. S. offers, such as music, dramatics, and athletics. We have already made plans for our first party, the Freshman-Sophomore Hop. All of us hope to be a credit both scholastically and morally to M. H.
