.-....., I I 6'laM,5fLzbia' HISTORY OF FRESHMEN RECRUITS We, the class of '52, realized our ambition of becoming Medina High School students on September l3, I9-48. Our first class meeting was held on September IS, and we elected Kay Parish president. Our members have already made their presence felt in the many worthwhile activities M.H.S, offers, such as music, drama- tics, and athletics, We are now making plans for our first big party, the Freshmen-Sophomore Hop. All of us hope to be a credit both scholastically and morally to our ship, the M.H.S. HISTORY OF SOPHOMORE SEAMEN On September I3 l948 we came back to school with all the other classes this time as sophomore seamen That name makes us real ize that we have already sailed one quarter of the way along our high school course and hav ing gone through our freshman apprenticeship really have our sea legs Now we are looking forward to the rest of our years at M H S to work study and enjoy the good times which only our school can give us With Ronnie Hall as our president we have al ready planned a number of fine parties All of us are making plans for taking our place in the junior class activities and studies next year HISTORY OF LIEUTENANTS JUNIOR GRADE In i946 we entered senior high as green as any other freshmen class with Ed Dornbirer as president Many of the fellows went out for football basketball and track and brought us honors while the girls went out for G AA Y Teens and many other activities The class as a group sponsored a dance that was very much en joyed by the whole school There s a saying all good things come to an end and so did our freshman year However very soon we as Sophomores came back at the familiar call of the school bell Our second year we felt almost like old timers and we sailed along with Dick Parish as our president Some people feel that the sophomore year is most trying but we found ourselves breezing right through it by planning a class party for the school cheering our fellas on in sports and serving for the Junior Senior prom Once again the summer crept by us and now we are launched upon our third year high school course with Nancy Burris as our capable pres: dent Under the sponsorship of Miss Allen Miss Vandervort and Miss Hitzelberger we chose our class rings put out a swell annual for a l grand senior class, and gave the best prom ever held in Medina High School auditorium. HISTORY OF SENIOR LIEUTENANTS Being forty-niners should make us gold dig- gers, but we're just a hundred years too late for that. We forty-niners made our debut in September, l945. This was our freshman year and all this hum-drum and excitement was new to us. We elected our class officers as did the other three upper classes. During this year the officers had a cornparatively small job to do, although the class had a play called School Daze'f and the annual class party Nineteen forty six saw Bob Voshall at the helm for the forty niners in their tenth year of school This year the class log records that the class party was held in February with a Valen tine s Day theme The busiest of the four nigh school years came in 47 our junior year The yearbook got off to a swell start at the beginning of the year with Lois Miller and Gwen Gibbs as co editors The Junior Senior prom was well planned and the big night was scheduled for March 6 This was per haps one of the best proms in Medina High School history Then came the final cruise on the M H S The year started in the usual way with the election of officers Alan Batchelder was elected presi dent Other seniors to receive fame and fortune were Nancy Henniger who was chosen Home coming queen Dick Kornjati who was elected Student Council president and Reba Shaw and Bob Heniken who reigned as king and queen of the junior senior prom CLASS OFFICERS OF I948 I949 lpictures on class dividersl President Vice president Secretary Treasurer Student Council Rep President Vice president Secretary Treasurer President Vice president Secretary Treasurer Student Council Rep President Vice president Treasurer Secretary Student Council Rep FRESHMEN SOPHOMORE JUNIOR SENIOR Kay Parish George Shumaker Arlene Winebrenner Wilma Jones Eugene Horkey Ronnie Hall Harold Shaw Dolores Palko Nancy Burris Dick Parish Dave Ellis Jim Holden Alan Batchelder Tom Evans Joan Anderson Rosemary Poor Bob Voshall I I - I . - Q .
