September, i944-a big day! Why? Because we began our Freshman year at Medina High, and became officially known as the Class of '48. That was an exciting year, one full of new experiences, sometimes not entirely pleasant, for we began to realize what a little bit of responsibility can mean. Studies seemed difficult and grades discouraging until we became adjusted to the routine and perhaps some of us have never quite managed that yet. Needless to say study wasn't all we did in that big year. There was the fun of actually being invited to and belonging to extraecurricular groups. derfully inviting we scarcely could decide and some of us didn't do much eliminating past schedules. Our Sophomore and Junior years passed each more swiftly than the other, and we found ourselves swept deep into a whirlpool of events with little time to evaluate or plan for the future. Now, as Seniors, we are only too aware that soon it will be over to remain just a memory-Va memory of four swell years at M. H, S. I0 all high school activities, Everything was so won- what we wanted to join, by the appearance of our Memories are mostly pleasant things Things we want to remember And the ones we have of high school days Will live onfas a burning ember. Our Freshman year was one big thrill Excitement and good times galore And a new experience with books that proved That we must study much more. Our Sophomore year was next in line And spirits were soaring high For soon we gained some of the confidence We'll need as the years go by. A chance to display our talents came ln the next, our Junior year With the annual, and prom, and stadium sale Our ingenuity became very clear. As Seniors we are working hard For now we're looking ahead And cramming these months as full as can be 'Cause the end of this year we dread. So quickly let us make c toast As they go fleeting by To four years full of memories Gained here-in Medina High. Mary C. Newber
