SENIOR PROPHECY We, the official prophets of the famous (or infamous) class of “41”, having spent a part of one evening and more than twelve class periods in an attempt to pierce the hazy curtain of the future by gazing into our crystal ball (a glass paper weight) do hereby record our discoveries. But first, for our own protection, we wish to state that any similarity between our predictions and the future of any of our classmates is purely coincidental. For Max Amerman we see a Dude Ranch open to any M. H. S. alumni who makes Hollywood. Mary Baich will be writing scenarios for M. G. M. Sidney Bowman will be president of the National School and Office Janitor ' s Union. Barbara Burnham’s future is hazy, but through the mist we discern a symphony orchestra, and on the podium conducting, none other than our own Barbara. The Clark Farms and Dairy Co. under our classmate Bruce will control all of Ohio’s dairy products. Lovina Hunter, who is in partnership with her brother, will furnish the sand and gravel for the concrete used in the “Champeen” Creek Suspension Bridge which will be built by those nationally known construction engineers, Dick Smith and Bob EF finger. We believe that Gertrude Deiss and Catherine Wolfe will be writing mystery novels; their latest: “The Cat with Three Pa’s”. Jo Deibel will be the first woman airline pilot flying between Alberquerque and Cleveland while we see Ralph Herrington running the famous “Gas and Go” Nation ' wide Service Stations. Bud Fisher, famous zoologist, will be on the trail of a certain species of Gurks, said to be found in Darkest Africa. Kenneth Sherman will be helping Howard Oberholtzer on his nationwide Farm Project. The crystal ball shows Joe Henninger as Traffic Manager of the new Kroger’s Grocery Store. Dene Hammerschmidt will be known as the famous surgeon who successfully completed that renowned operation, the removal of horns from the Horned Toad. Mary Ziegler and George Welch will be featured as singers with Sponseller’s Syncopated Swingsters, an up and coming young band. For Bob Shane we see a future in the prize fighting ring. Never would have believed it, but there it is! Right in the crystal ball! Bill Rapp and Elwood Pincombe, famous race drivers will win the Indianapolis Speed Classic in “61 . Their mechanic, Art Warren, has devised a new type of super ' fuel. Mary Virginia Schultz and Jean Higgens will be running the Higgens-Schultz Secretarial School with exceptional executive ability. The Raymont School of Dancing will be a tremendous success. ( Continued on Page 18 ) Seventeen

SENIOR PROPHECY (Continued) We see Howard Ward occupying a professorship in the study of heiroglyphics at the JudkinS ' Lanning College for Advanced Study of Dead Languauges. Alice Satink will also he a professor there. She s studying the Hosseta Block which was discovered in Egypt in the tomb of Nebuchadnezzar by those famous explorers, Martha Mellert and Charlotte Grimes. Warner Folk will be bartender at Folk’s Fizz, a string of milk bars stretching across the country. Anna Rau will find fame as a torch singer, famous for “My Heart Belongs to Reginald O. Throck-Morton.” Bud Riegger we see as publicity agent for Jeppy Zibah (a sister of Brenda and Cobina) . We see Ruth Ferguson and Rosemary Hepner as secretaries for the two newly elected women congressmen, Nancy Lou Elliott and Dot Phillips. Floyd Huffman plays a swing guitar in Gene Autry ' s latest hit. Chet Fewis will be famous for an attempt to fly to the moon by rocket ship. Mind you, we said ‘attempt.’ Ann Leister will be the first woman to reach the State Supreme Court (on the side of the law) . The Schneiders, Henry and Martin, will be stars with the Medina Rangers Hockey Team. Helen Perrin and Ruth Plants have learned, as the magic ball shows us, that all angles are not right. They will be employed by the Ajax Law Offices Inc. Helen Szaniszlo and her cousin Joann will be taking nurses’ training at Ye Broken Bone Sanatorium which will be run by an efficient staff under the supervision of our classmate Etta West. Helen Szekeres will open a bake shop operated by Evelyn Rickard who has in ' vented a new type of yeast ' free bread. Loren Parker will conduct a lecture tour; his subject: “Women’’. George Promey will be connected with Glenn Jennrich on the Okee- Doakie Soap Chip hour. They will attempt to bring back the true hillbilly yodel. Jean Harley, the noted botanist, we see discovering the only five-petalcd, bearded lily. She thanks her able aids, Sylvia Strouse and Alberta Turek, for their splendid assistance during the eight year search. Gladys Medley will be found any day on the campus at Fisher University as head of the Commercial Department. The Music by Correspondence Course offered by Olive Ann Tooker will be found very useful in elementary piano playing. Last, but not least, will be one of our class surprises. Mary Purguly will head the Fashion Shop of a large New York department store. The vision fades, the crystal ball is only a paper-weight again, and, as to the fu- ture; well — , your guess is as good as ours. Duane Todd Neil Gowe Eighteen
