Holding the position of senior class president and FFA president for two years was WAYNE SMITH, Scratch was well-known throughout the coun- try for his wonderful singing voice. He gave many solo performances, and in hisjunior year he sang in the men's quartet. For four years he belonged to chorus and FFA, his two major inter- ests. Handsome, husky Melvin C. Tron- son Jr, received his diploma with a major in sports and a minor in prac- tical joking, Junior , co-captain of the football team, starred in every sport offered at Lake, was a Class C all-stater as a senior, and earned I3 letters. He acted in the class play, belonged to and held office in FFA, and planned to make farming his career after serving Uncle Sam. Brunette beauty Yvonne Tyler won renown as a real trouper when in an emergency. On very short notice sne took a part in Hillbilly XVeddin ' .indgave a fine performance as Lucy Maxwell. Vonnie held the offices of songleader and treasurer in FHA and belonged to chorus. This neat, well-dressed girl enjoyed dancing, Honker editor, JOAN MADSEN, loved a witty remark, a good poem, and any athletic contest that Lake competed in, When a sophomore tnis dark-haired gal won a trip to the in- terscholastic mect at Missoula, and the l9:33 Christmas concert featured gter as narrator. She played st large part in the senior play, wrote many features for the BDA WAUKA in her breezy style, and was sophomore tice-president, Her trumpet sounded in band for three years. RUIDALE NELSON, a tall Home- steadite with a hearty laugh, was a real crazy dancer. He belonged to baud and threw in his lot with the basses lu chorus, Real farmer mater- ial, Rudy belonged to PFA for four years and loved every minute of it. He was always ready to Join in a class activity and added much to the class play. Curly-hairedGARY ROBINSON had the best attendance record of all the class, although it was not because of his love for his studies. Instead he wishcd to be on hand for all the extra- curricular activities. The main at- traction was sports, although he played in band, was in FFA and acted in the class play.
