In spite ofthis, Bob made itthrough school in fine shape, seem- ingly specializing in FFA, where he held the office of vice-president dur- inghissenior year. Also he sang ten- or in the chorus for one yearn GENEVIEVE CHARETTE'S long, dark tresses were one of her outstand- ing features. Always an attractive, likeable girl, Sissy made a lot of friendsduringher school days. Active in FHA, Sis belonged four years, held office, and attended the state convention at Havre when she was a junior. She also enjoyed singing in the chorus and acting in class plays. Friendly, jovial BETTY LOU GREFE, was one of the top students of the Class of '54, Born and raised in Wanso, this future nurse came to Lake and attended all four years of high school. As a senior she served as an efficient, cheerful office secretary, She was a chorus member for three years and belonged to FHA four years. Her senior year marked the twelfth year she went to Lake. June acted in classplays and showed artistic ability in preparing prom and class play scenery. Most famous for his talented left hand, KENNETH BARSNESS was re- sponsible for all the art work in this book and the BDA WAUKA. Besides this his main interest was sports, and he was picked as one of the ten top players at the basketball tourney in Plentywood during his senior year. This dark, good-looking basketball captain would like to capitalize on his drawing ability by taking drafting. Big Brekke certainly wasa fitting title for 6'2 , 185 lb. GARY BREKKE. Gary sang in chorus for two years, but aside from this he enjoyed athletics. A sharp crew-cut was always his trade - mark when he played football, basket- ball, and ran the mile in track. This happy-go-lucky gent plans to attend college. 0,4 5 Small, quiet DOLORESI-IAASE,who hailed from Homestead, was an honor student and tooted her trombone in band for two years. Among her fa- vorite subjects were German and Typ- ing Il at which she excelled. This friendly, dependable girl was always willing to help out in any of the sen- ior's activities. Lean and lanky, 6'3 JIM HAT- FIELD was distinguished as the tallest member of the senior class, Also knownforhis red Chevy pickup, many ofJimmy's happiest hours were whiled away at the wheel of this vehicle. Although he found it easy to sleep in class, he was never caught napping in the fields of basketball, football and baseball. He controlled funds for the FFA for two years and showed promise as a future farmer. GAYLE PETERSEN, a tall blonde Lake girl, played corner in band for three years. As a sophomore she was a cheerleader and as a senior she was in the class play. Dagmarite LEROY LODAHL had the reddest hair in the class and was easily recognized by his fondness for western attire, including cowboy boots. Other features of the gala affair were the variety show, tiny tot show, and many concessions. Some of these were the ability of its students to work together, play together, and MAKE a good time when none was provided for them. 3 'l S ai' 1 1 EY. if? f, i ,, g g 5 s - 'V , I 4 1 i Y.s in y ix 1 1' 'V my W 4 5 And our teachers, who were our friends, not merely pillars of wisdom to be worshipped from afar. Tho' the members of the faculty changed, their wonderful willingness to join in our activities, 1such as hard time parties5 never changed, and we hoped this tra- dition would last as long as the school. Xxx the life of a high school student. Graduation-ab ways a happy, serious-sad occasion. Happy because we were leaving the books and studies behind, serious because of the responsi- bilities we must assume, and sad because these were the best years of our lives, and now they were over. ,f3i'1T7i.t' ' ' 714464 E 449 ,ll'X.vA If ff . y. -T,.l'I ' In I 'III 'II 'll I .I I . um g . r .- r- L I ' 41' 1 'N-Q ig .
