TO THE GRADUATES OF 1987 I appreciate the opportunity to address the graduating class. The poem below sums up many a graduate's thoughts and feelings. I dedicate myself Not only to strive For the goals I have set But to meet them and set even more Not only to hold To the dreams I have had But to dream greater dreams than before Not only to enjoy This land and its wealth But to make it a better place to live And not only to take What I can from this life But to love and to generously give May Alice Loberg This powerful young graduating class has truly boundless potential. You face tomorrow with an unparalleled level of secondary education, in a free and democratic society. Many unfulfilled prophecies lie ahead. Today's dreams will indeed be met and new dreams will be dreamed. Yet the accomplishment of the dreams will only be significant in terms of what you put in to making the dreams a reality. As Saint Francis of Assissi aptly wrote, It is in giving that we receive. On behalf of the teaching staff and administrators, I congratulate each of you on your graduation. It is with a great deal of happiness that I tell you how proud we all are at this moment. We wish you well in every future endeavour. David J. THE ROAD NOT TAKEN CRobert Frostj Two roads diverged in a yellow wood And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowthg And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way I doubted ifl should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Because it was grassy and wanted wear, Two roads diverged in wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same,
