f I - '4 W MY NURSE Vtfe are proud of dear old Charleston First she will always be Remember the shot from Fort Sumter Ringing loudly o'er the sea By the Ashley's flowing waters Stands a building tall Sickness, sorrows, joys, and laughter Take place behind her walls Years have passed and many of them Since the first bricks were laid As time went on more room was needed And a new building was made Tirnid, shy, very young children Came from all around Learned to help the poor and needy And to love our old town. ln their hearts they will always remember The nights that were hard and long The chimes in St, Michael ringing Then they dreamed of home But they had left their homes to study To give their lives to Men The tired and old to comfort Broken bones to mend The Way was long and rugged And as they older grew They are proud to stand up high And to their oath prove true To Rope: and to Charleston They have done us proud For where they go a Roper graduate Will stand out in a crowd So to tho Old Roper and the New One We say hail to all of you We are proud you're in our town And of the things you do.
