Dedication WILLIAM HENRY HARRIS, A.B., M.D. Chairman of the Department of Medicine Dr. Harris came to Woman ' s Medical College in 1960 and was appointed Professor of Medicine and Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine. His outstanding reputation in the fields of clinical medicine, medical education, and research had pre- ceded him. Dr. Harris is an alumnus of Harvard Medical School, from which he was graduated cum laude. He did postgraduate work on the Harvard Service at Boston City Hospital and at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. He served as Associate Pro- fessor of Medicine and Head of the Pulmonary Disease Division of the University of Utah College of Medicine and as Chief of Pulmonary Disease Service of the Veterans ' Administration Hospitals in Salt Lake City. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a Subspecialty in Pulmonary Disease. At present, Dr. Harris is President of The American Thoracic Society.
