We are grateful to Dr. Harris for his devotion to our learning, and for his efforts in helping us achieve our cherished goal. We are grateful for the many hours of counselling, and for his helpful advice on our individual careers. Men, we have a problem . . . B A Assistant to the President Class Advisor KATHARINE R. BOUCOT M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.C.P. Professor of Preventive Medicine Clinical Professor of Medicine THE DEDICATED HEART George Santayana said, The great question is not what age you live in or what art you pursue but what perfection you can achieve in that art under those circumstances. The Class of 1963 goes into the world of medicine with considerable knowledge and many techniques. You will blend these over the years with understanding and tenderness into the art of medicine, which is true healing. Today, world crisis bring the possibility of destruction close,- how deeply grateful you should feel that you have chosen to re- store, to soothe, to minister. Y ou have the inner strength of the dedicated heart. I know this because you have been very close to me. I wish you Godspeed with pride and satisfaction in an exceptionally fine group of young women. Wherever you go, our support and trust will be with you. Remember that you may always return for guidance, assistance, or appreciation. With esteem and affection Katharine R. Every morning when the Coccyx crowed at dawn, Edinger Westphal III left his royal chambers and sounding the superior temporal horn, awakened the Kingdom. This was a very special day in the life of Edinger Westphal III, for today was his birthday. It was a lovely morning and Edinger Westphal III strolled out upon the Brachium Pontus and gazed into the Aqueduct of Sylvius. Edinger Westphal III was in love. Her name Ann Eurysm, and Ruber, among his cortices, had it that she was unfaithful. Was she a true Ann Eurysm or a false Ann Eurysm? This was his neurolemma. He was interrupted by the barking of Raphke ' s pooch, who came bound — across the bridge to greet him. It was time for him to go to school and Raphke ' s pooch always accompanied him. Today he had to recite the All-or-none law and learn the perivascular satilites and in chemistry he had to distill on his Golgi apparatus. Sometimes after school the Dura Mater picked him up, but he was never sure whether she would, because she was the vagust person. Today she was right on time, and he could see by her smile that she had been to the Dentate. Hurrying back along the Optic Tract they gazed proudly at the royal floccus on the axon hillocks. When they arrived at the Globus Paladus they found it ablaze with astrocytes. All of Edinger Westphal Ill ' s ansa ' s and uncuses had arrived, and the Circle of Willis was jammed with their auto-gyri. It was not until he stepped into the Paladus and all the guests started to cingula Happy Birthday, that he realized that this was a party in his honor. Everyone remarked upon the beautiful mylin sheath that the Dura Mater was wearing. His uncus, the Luska, who was in a vitreous humor because he had been in an aqueous humor the night before, was suddenly seized with mircoglia and before they could stop him, he had jumped on the oculo-motor scooter that Edinger Westphal Ill ' s Ansa Lenticularis had given him, and rode around the room shouting, This is no hemibalismus. This is a real blastoma! After hitting the tabes dorsalis he drove through the dorsum, down the royal treppe and splash! right into the pons, which so disturbed the Schwanns, that they arose in a great flocculus. But in the midst of the merriment Edinger Westphal III was sad. He saw Ann Gioma and Sylvian Fissure, but where was Ann Eurysm? Suddenly Aphasia rushed from aphonia booth and cried, Ann Eurysm had ruptured! The next day the giant organ of Corti pealed forth the Massa Intermedia. And so they came to berry Ann Eurysm.
