Each girl was a little apprehensive from tales told by preceding groups, but soon our apprehension turned to conndence. With keys in our pockets, and a set of do's and don'ts, we worked with and for our patients. With our curriculum and extra curricular activities, we passed our days. Hydroftherapy, electricfshock treatment and occupational therapy became daily routine, as did our par' ties, picnics, and movies planned for the patients. We worked, we studied, we learn- ed, and we enjoyed every moment of the time, which seemed to pass all too quickly. 1 -.if if ' ,,, V- -2. - '- , - Rise' '- ' friigifgrsa at s v Ai 7 1 ef -9' ' 4 ' ir a -w wf ' ' TK'!ee ,,21 ,4f,f:,,,fQ 1, as A-fe 2 'i s f g i fp 1 f ' 5, A 3 TA: eg, f 5, .5 4' Lg, -1,37 4, ,Q 5: jr 4 4 - A :,,, , , fg1 f'f'-- -i f V K - . Sf As we travelers of 48 stand thru the clearing mist around and on top of this Mountain, a living monument of our three years achievement, we pause a moment to gaze back and reminisce. ln this climb we found ourselves thrown into different surroundings and companies, which we now realize have brought both joys and tribulation. The thorns which strewed our paths, the rugged rocks, the dark and unexplored woods, and the drab and weary days have added to our now accomplished goal. This journey has sprung roots in our hearts which time can neither change nor destroy. Now we can look forward to our place ainoug the multitude. Standing here looking into the future we see Janice Burns settling down to a quiet and peaceful life as the wife of a minister, using her professional knowledge to administer to his eongref gation's physical needs. Over there! We see Marie DeLiso holding a black bag with the insignia of a public health nurse about to make another routine call. We see Marie Detwiler Wert's radiant smile as she and Bob take their first set of twins from the hospital. Oh yes! Genevieve Galinis is sending her Boston Cream Pie filling to the city laboratory to be analyzed before serving it to Joe. Then too, there is Arlene Godshall now the de' voted wife of Chris working her 3f11 shift in the nursery, Beside Alice Hadfield we note an unrecognized figure of a man. We're wondering, could it be Frannie? The day will come when Cleo Kennedy will enter the portal of a well known college for the furthering of her nursing career. The mist is :raising and Mae Koelzer can be seen searching for the one and only who will fill her hours with contentment. Here comes Mr. jordan and by his side there is none other than his bluefeyed wife. Alice CLevisD. Attention please! A grand review is passing and we are proud to recognize the commander of this Naval group as our Dorothy McFarland. At 7:00 A.M. we see a sleepy gentleman waiting in the hospital lobby for his wife, Mildred Morris, to come off duty. At a garden gate standing in her printed apron is Emma Nicholson looking eagerly down the street for Tommy to come home. The cock crows and Iva Roudabush is making ready to start off for her day's work at the city hospital. At a meat market Mary Uhler is buying Lebanon baloney for Lloyds lunch bucket. A car drives up and Mary Valerio steps out to attend the nurses' alumnae meeting. Bathing on the beach on her off hours is Dolores Ver Meeren. My, what a nice sun tan! ' Hanging out pink sheets at her bungalow in the country is Florence Ballaron Wiiichester who is attempting to keep Eddie jr. out of the clothes basket. The R.N. magazine for the month features our Louise Wright as its cover girl. The mist has lifted and the sun is shining upon each of us as we bid farewell to one another and start our separate paths taking us thru the mystery of the years. M.
