Spring brings with it the promise of a fresh breath, the reemergence of free spirit, and the quest for rays, all of which have been blended into MCG's newest tradition, the Annual Spring Parade. This colorful event had its inception in 1974 when the sophomore medical students, inflamed by the intrepid leadership of the infamous Dr. j. Bob Teabeaut, dared to take to the streets in full regalia without so much as an official parade permit from the Mayor. Each successive spring has seen an increasing number of celebrants from across the spectrum of MCG who spend High Noon on a spring day strutting, strolling, and clowning through the heart of Augusta's medical complex. This spring, Grand Marshall Dr. Mary jo Sargeant Carter led the Armadillo Stomp, complete with regal kazoo bands, horse and dog shows, and a raving armadillo, before a prestigious panel of judges. With a feverish celebration immediately following, if not preceeding, the Annual MCG Spring Parade promises to maintain its distinction as the only event of its kind in the world. lf. m x.. .-N tx.
