QP Alpha Omega Alpha was founded in 1902 at the University of Illinois College of Medicine to offer recognition to superior accomplishment as a student of medicine. Alpha Chapter at the Medical College of Georgia was established in 1926. Membership in this honorary fraternity is based on the high standards of leadership, character, and excellence in scholarship. Therefore, A.O.A. membership is the highest honorary attainable by a medical student. Yearly elections are made from the junior and senior classes. X Ev qi Q The Aesculapian regretfully acknowledges the folding of the Phi Chi and Phi Rho Sigma fraternities this past year. Phi Chi was founded on the University of Virginia campus in 1889 with the founding of the Alpha Phi Sigma chapter in 1930, while Phi Rho Sigma was founded in 1891 at Northwestern University with the founding of the Chi Alpha chapter in 1903.
