QL this 1965 edition of the Aesculapian is EQSQQARSME dedicated to Dr. Thomas Findley, Pro- fessor and Chairman of the Department of Medicine of the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Thomas Findley was born April 15, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. He received his A.B. from Princeton University, and a BS. from the University of Minnesota. He attended Rush Medical College fUniversity of Chicago, and received his M.D. degree in 1926. He interned at University Hospital, of the University of Pennsyl- vania, in Philadelphia, and took a medical residency at the Uni- versity of Michigan. Dr. Findley came to the Medical College of Georgia in 1954. as Director of the Georgia Heart Association Laboratories. In 1957, he succeeded Dr. Virgil P. Sydenstriclcer as Chairman of the Department of Medicine. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, The American Associ- ation for the History of Medicine, The Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine, The American Board of Internal Medi- cine, The American College of Physicians, The American Clinical and Climatological Association, The Advisory Board for Medical Specialists, The Southern Society for Clinical Research. The Georgia Heart Association, The American Medical Association, The Georgia Medical Association, and the Richmond County Medical Association. Dr. Find1ey's gentlemanly demeanor, quiet dignity, and vast knowledge have inspired the admiration and respect of his col- leagues and students. 3 . ,iglt A' ,Lg . A I
