The officers elected for the first year were Bernard Korbitz, pres- ident, Wayne Engel, vice-president, Kerry McCarron, secretary, and Darlene Thompson, treasurer. The main event of the freshman class was the Freshman Hop. The theme for this dance was 'Over The Rainbow' and the gym was decorated accordingly. Mrs. Retzer and Mr. Evans were the class advisors. As sophomores they were well represented in band, forensics and athletics. They spon- sored the annual 'Sophomore Frolic' which was held on April 6. The class advisors at the beginning of the year were Mr. Davis and Mr. Pitts. In December when Mr. Davis was inducted into the army, Mrs. Chapman took his place. The class officers were Wayne Engel, president, Ronald Hrdina, vice-president, and Rita Smith, secretary- fl.'6aSlll'CI'n The junior year opened with 135 students enrolled. Jack Zuleger was elected presi- dent, John Hartwig, vice-president, Roger Dettmering, secretary, and Charles Rust treasurer. Class advisors were Mr. Schuer- ell and Mrs. Schraufnagel. The junior class sponsored the Christmas dance with Frosty, the Snowman' as the theme. The class play, 'Our Town', was presented under the di- rection of Mr. Grahn. The prom was an im- portant event. Darlene Thompson reigned as queen and jess Ross as King. The theme was 'Moonlight Bay . Officers elected at the beginning of the sen- ior year were Dave Karau, president, Jule Gehrig, vice-president, Marlene Duesing, secretary, and Carol Brandner, treasurer. Class advisors were Mr. Hedlund, Miss Hot- ten, and Mr. Retzer.
