LIBRARY Library is heart of MSHS academic world Heart of the MSHS academic program, in cur- riculum as well as in architecture, is the library. Teachers in nearly all academic courses made repeated use of its resources in giving their stu- dents a wide range of in-depth knowledge. Term paper and report writers found its services indis- pensable. Students seeking reading material merely for pleasure or tor out-of-class learning also relied on the library, which was presided over by Miss Glenna Brewold and Mr. Bert Webber. just as the library is the heart of the academic pro- gram, so the academic program is the heart of the school. Extracurricular activities have their place, but the school exists to impart knowledge to its students and its success or failure is meas- ured not in football scores but in the achieve- ments of its graduates. Medford Senior High School is fortunate to have a staff of welitrained, experienced- and highly qualified classroom teachers to implement the broad curriculum and to take advantage of the beautiful and functional physical plant. The academic program of a large and vibrant school such as MSHS cannot be easily capsuled or characterized. It includes subjects as varied as carpentry, anthropology, and instrumental music, offers broad survey courses for students exploring a field for the first time, advanced academic courses to prepare students for higher education, and courses of a vocational nature to prepare students directly for the world of work. In large part, the program of academics, con- sisting of both mental and manual skills, is MED- FORD SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL. LEFT: Librarian, Miss Glenna Brewold.
