ADMI NISTRATION Principal, Administrators join in creating At the master controls of the great machine known as Med- ford Senior High School for the third year is Dr. William E. Ruck. The myriad range of activities under his jurisdiction as Principal make him involvement and adventure per- sonfied. He is equally at home attending a band rehearsal, presiding over a school function, or welcoming visitors to the campus. Daily from his office come the hundreds of decisions and ideas necessary to keep the assemblage of nearly 17000 components operating smoothly. Dr. Ruck played a key role in the preparation of the dress code revisions and curricular changes instituted during 1969-70. He led the community support for Black Tornado athletics culminat- ing in the State A-1 football championship. He offered en- couragement to the award-winning MSHS publications, and met the triumphant band on their midnight return from Victoria. He seldom misses the numerous club and organization activities, Dr. Ruck, a former social studies instructor, feels a personal commitment to each student. He offered this thought to the Tornadia staff, The world is not interested in people who are only interested in themselves, but rather in people who are interested in other people. His concluding words to the class of 1970 are, We have tried to give you every opportunity to learn and pre- pare. . .the world is yours. Dr. Ruck is interviewed by Hi-Times Editor Miss Candy Mohr.
