As superin- Tendenf, Dr. Mayfield has final responsibiliTy for The enfire sTaff, including assisTanT superinTendenTs, prin- cipals, supervisors, assisTanT principals, deparTmenT heads, deans, and The school disTricT clerk in The Medford public school clisTricT. He is also responsible for The rules, regulaTions, adminisTraTion, and inTer- preTaTion of disTricT policies and philosophies. He deTermines The applicafion of school law To The adminisTraTion and operaTion of every phase of The school program. He compiles The school bud- 6 geT which includes The planning and supervision of all school revenues and expendiTures. He direcfs The research and TesTing division and sees ThaT all The research and evaluaTion proiecfs are carried ouT. One of The biggesT jobs carried ouT by Dr. May- field is in The public relafions field.
