, 5, Q ELSIE BERNHEISEL JERRY LAUSMAN CHARLES WAGNER Treasurer Technician C0.T.ger Rafah The legislative body of Medford Senior High Schools government is the Student Council. ln the school year 1947-1948 the council worked to form a judicial body called the Student Court, and for a system of punishment which worked by demerits. The executive officer this year was Joe Chez, president of the Associated Student Body. He was assisted by A. S. B. officers: Monte Kounz, vice-president, Eleanor McCabe, secretary, Elsie.Bernheisel, treasurer, and John Skyrman, business manager. The remainder of the council was composed of the officers of the most important school organizations: Hi-Times editor, Doris Bostwick, Crater editor, Charity Williams, Boys' League president, Bob Gaines, Girls' League president, Marilyn Winetrout, senior class president, Bob Shongle, junior class president, Bill Walker, senior class representative, Bill Mumbach, junior class representative, Kenneth Boshears, sophomore class representative, Susan Drummond, Yell Queen, Mary Sue Greene, Yell King, Gordon Price, student technician, Jerry Lausman. Throughout the year the council urged students to participate in the extra-curricular activities offered in school. lt sponsored the first dance of the year and supervised the annual noise parade. A committee headed by Monte Kounz installed in the halls a new public address system which gave music and special announcements to students during the noon hours. This year the Student-Council has left behind a record of achievement that the student body valued during the year and one which following councils will hold as an example.
