August 20, Pat Sherrill killed 14 Edmond Post Office employees injured 6, and killed himself. Unemployment and the homeless were growing problems as the economy continued to sag and farms and businesses failed ... Former Governor Henry Bellmon was sworn in for a much later second term with high hopes that hi could pull Oklahoma out of an economic crisis. Sixteen Oklahoma banks failed in 1986, including Enid’} First National. At the beginning of 1987,90 more were said to be in trouble... Schools across the nation and in Oklahoma began teaching students about AIDS; more than 40 case; have been reported in Oklahoma ...
