Although riddled by in- juries and frowned on by fortune, the team was a credit to Medford High School wherever it played. On several occasions, when at full strength, the squad showed flashes of its bril- liant potentialities. Outstanding among these were its 6-6 stalemate of a powerful Arlington eleven, and its 7-O loss to Malden. Both these games, with the slightest smile from Lady Luck, might have very easily resulted in vic- tories for the Blue and White. ln the Arling- ton game, for instance, with a first down on the Arlington three yard line, time ran out in the Malden game, but for one trick play on which Malden made its only score. Medford was clearly the better team, outplaying its traditional rival at every turn. Special accolades are in order for Guy Martarano, who, in recognition of his fine play, was elected A11-Scholastic right tackle. It is a fascinating sport of speed and split second timing, together with precision of strokes and agility. This fall sport was rnet enthusiastically by the one hundred girls who took part in it. For those who were beginners there was instruction by the tennis coach, Miss Luce, who began with the fundamentals of the game and ended with the finer points. The members hold interesting meetings at which they learn about various cameras and their op- eration how to develop and print their own negatives and how to take better pictures. This year they exhibited a photographic dis- play in the library took candid shots of the Proms and continued the job of furnishing ary equipment. The members enjoy the many privileges of their organization and at the same time gain a great deal of photographic know- ledge.
