The season was almost victorious, but due to injuries, an in- complete team caused them to lose two very close meets. Captain Dave Jaffarian led the team by winning many meets, and placing highly in others. Jim Brabazon, Greg Clark, Tony Nourse and Dan Rose also had strong performances. Comic relief and an occassional varsity finish were provided by GABES. The team has a promising outlook for next year with many good runners returning next year. Warriors We are. Warriors ' The 1984 Boys Varsity Soccer Team had another successful sea- son, finishing out the season with a 13-2-1 record. Highlights included a 1-0 win over D-S to once again clinch the Duncan Watt Memorial Cup, and a 3-2 win over Division I team Dennis-Yarmouth in tourna- ment action. The team had four All-Star play- ers this year with one honorable mention. An outstanding effort by the defense lead to a record break- ing shutout season. The team was capable of beating any squad with its starting fullback and All-Star team player, Dave Ballou. Tight end Jay Hol- land also contributed greatly. The high point of the year was the upset win over Hopkington, 20-19. The win knocked the team out of first place and it stifled any Super Bowl hopes for the Hillers. The Medfield Spirit was carried on throughout the season and hopes are high for next year. GIRLS SPORTS The 7-8-1 record of the 1984 Medfield field hockey team doesn ' t tell the story of the first win over Hopkington in five years nor the loss to the league ' s first place team by a goal in the final 35 seconds of the game. Dover dies tomorrow! ; and they did as the Warriors finished the sea- son with a 2-1 win on their home turf. NOT TRUE! Almost every girl on the team had a personal best record and many girls qualified and placed high- ly in this season ' s league meet. All in all it was a very good season — A good time was had by all. But none of it would have been possible without the help and dedication of coach Rick Cardoza. Thanks Mr. Cardoza (Sir!).
