Special thanks goes to Coach Tom Cowell from the seniors who have had the pleasure to play for him. BOYS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM Seniors GREG LAMB, KEVIN GRAGE, JOHN LARKIN and PUAL MEARLY would like to thank Mr. Gardoza for a satisfying season. The team would like to thank Mr. Kunzig, New Balance, Nike, The Pretenders, Fusion Rock — Jazz and last and least — John Denver. The Gross Gountry team this year had a season equal to last years 3-5 record. A change in coaching and of the course back to the faster course of four years ago, improved the times of all the veterans. Goach Rick Gardoza did his best to contain the likes of KEVIN (gift to the World] GRAGE, GREG (Ghops] LAMB, GHRIS (Hot Legs) GOWEN, ERNEST (Dissatisfied Redneck) EDGAR, JOHN (The L Man) LOUGHNANE, JOHN (Yohan) LARKIN, PAUL MEARLY and TONY (Sunny) NOURSE. Fraser FIELD HOCKEY The 1981 field hockey team finished its season with a rec- ord of 4-4-8. This record, however, does not reflect the amount of effort and dedica- tion that both the J.V. and Varsity teams displayed. With their “Go Nuts” spirit, the team had many laughs and good times throughout the season. The team did the worm, aced the trivia ques- tions, practiced their Back-of- the-bus tunes, experimented with the PRETENDERS, but never got their sweats!!! Girls’ Soccer The 1981 edition of the Girls’ Soccer team had a very successful season finishing with a record of 12-3-1. The team came in second in the Southern In- dependent League missing first place by a mere one point. They did. however, make a first by beating Fox- boro twice in one season. In the tournament, the girls lost in a close game in the first round to Winchester, after beating North Weymouth in the prelimi- naries. The team produced two league all-stars, co- captain Laurel Hallowell and junior Laura Nejame. Varsity Team: (standing): head coach Pat Scarsciotti, mgr. Losing only 4 seniors from last year’s team, Medfield was able to become a dominant force in the Tri-Valley League, contributing five players to the league’s All-Star game. The Big Blue ended its 81-82 season with a Tri-Valley League record of 16-0 and finished 20-0 overall, compiling Big Blues first undefeated season. This gave the Blue a berth in the state tournament, an undisputed 1st place, and claim to the T.V.L. title. All season the team was led by the scoring and rebounding of Jim Belloli and Craig Eaton, strong frontcourt action in Chris Burtt and Bob Porack, and overall floorplay by Tom Brennan and David Robinson. Excellent efforts off the bench came from Bill Smithers, Dan Zuccarini, and Porack. The season saw Coach Gibbs earn his 100th career win, a squeaker vs. Hopkin- ton for the championship, and Brennan, Belloli, and Eaton elected to the T.V.L. All-star Team. WINTER TRACK TEAM This year’s Winter Track Team proved itself the number one mediocre team in the League. A final record of 2-4-1 for the season, 4th place in the League Meet, a 2nd place by Captain O’Toole in the State Meet high hurdles as well as two new records in the girl’s mile and two mile by Sophomore Mary Bruno were the high lights of the season. Many personal records were set on the distance team as well as by the sprinters. The team was looser this year than before, maybe because it was the first time that girls competed on the team (a real benefit). We had loads of fun, more so than was to the liking of Mr. Youlden, but if he expects us to behave maturely, maybe he should come to the State Meet next year. All in all everyone on the team showed outstanding talent. Good luck next year. Recruit those sophomores! L i ; 1 7 i _i ' 1ft 1 . - Top Row: I. Scott, M. Danforth, T. Bonnet, B. Beleou, K. Best Wishes to the Class of ’82 E.W. CALLOW 10 Summer St. 359-4941 It’s really not fair that we just have the reputation for being one of the finest real estate offices in tovm. We wish more of you knew that we have the best iced coffee about. We order it one day and it just sits around for another four or five days and gets real cold. We don ' t have the time to sit around with it, because our job is to sell homes. Maybe it’s time that your job got to know us — that is, to get your home sold. In fact, it’s more important that you know more about the job we can do for you than how good and cold our coffee is.
