The season’s highlights were against Foxboro; the team beat them 6-2 in the first game and conceded defeat in double overtime in the second by a score of 5-4. Upon qualification to the state Soccer tournament, the team defeated Wilmington in overtime for their first tournament victory ever. They were eventually eased out of the tourney by Wayland. MHS’s outlook for the future looks good as they are only losing 4 seniors. Along with the loss of their Co-Captains, the losses of Peter Ness and Jim Hamilton leave a large void in Medfield’s defensive corps. The Big Blue qualified for the Tournament for the eighth consecutive year. The Boys Bas- ketball squad was led by Co-Captains Greg Feehan and David Daniels along with Eric Aronson. Juniors Bob Bready and Tim Reardon developed well towards the end of the season. Another significant con- tribution to the team was made by the ef- fort put forth by sophomore Doug Fet- 1 ? 1 m ' . 1 GIRLS HOOPS 3 V A - The Medfield girls basketball team had a rough season this year in a rebuilding season. The girls had two new coaches this year with Tom Cowell taking over the varsity and Georgeanne Iverson coaching the J.V.’s. The girls started off the season on the wrong foot by losing six of their first eight games. They did much better in the second part of the year but they could still not put together a .500 season. The team was led by lone Senior, Co-Captain Nancy Sullivan, and Co-Captain Lori Woodlock. Team members included: Sue Kallio, Chris McDonnell, Mary Gerah, Donna Dewar, Nancy Juda, Gayle Horton, Linda Woodlock, Beth Tomney, Sandy Fletcher, and Sue Chick. The junior varsity was led by Kelly Roberts, Robin Hoover, Jan McDonnell, and Patty ‘Ollie’ Ruzzo. 86 Wt Eli) ; [if iSi Girls Gymnastics This year the girls gymnastics team was coached pa- tiently by Mary Robbins. It was an interesting year which had a slow start, but the girls managed to get through the season. The girls also enjoyed themselves immensely in their relatively short season. MHS ICE HOCKEY 90 Medfield High School added some new sports this year and among them is boys ice hockey. For the teams first year it was a hard season and they faired pretty well. The team was led by ten seniors including Tri- Valley League all-stars Glenn MacKenzie and Steve Forsythe. MacKenzie was also second in the league in scoring, as the line of Gillis Lynn, Mark Flavin, and MacKenzie accounted for most of the Warriors scoring. Coach Morgan is hoping lead his fifteen returning players to a much more productive season next year, and with the talent returning to the Medfield line-up next year, the future for Warrior hockey looks bright. MHS Cheerleaders The Medfield cheerleaders did an excellent job cheering on Medfield ' s football and basketball teams along with some hockey and soccer games. Ehzabeth White, the captain, led an exciting set of pep rallies which provided a lot of school spirit. Other members of the team were: N. Moran, J. Hughes, S. Ferraira, D. Warren, S. Fletcher, L.
