PROPHECY OF '57 - ' 8 SE IOR ' It was just a dream, the kind that wakes you up just at the most important part with a clear, warm feeling hovering ll around you. I was sitting in some sort of tent with a fortune teller directly across from me. Directly before me lay a clear crys- tl ball which seemed to have moving figures in it. Staring very hard I recognized a face among a group of people. fraid that the picture would vanish, I bent closer and gazed. It was BEVERLY PASSMORE, hurrying along Broadway Avenue in New York City. By now she is a graduate nurse id, as usual, she is late for her hospital duties. I watched her continue on her way until she disappeared behind the Lg doors of the University Hospital of New York. As I continued to gaze into the crystal ball, I saw JANE BUDD sail by in a large, red limousine. Her name is now I'uesday Morning. On the stage she is a well-known opera singer. Sitting across from her is somebody who looks a ttle familiar. Of course, it is CECELIA MIKS who accompanies her at the piano. Miss Miks is known all over the orld and has won many medals and honors. The scene suddenly changed, and it seemed that I was in a foreign land. The vision cleared and the place seemed I be a battle front. Many men were hurt, lying on the ground awaiting medical care. The medics were taking them 'f the field. Wait! I see someone I know. Yes, I do know who it is. It's KENNETH AHLER. He is a Staff Sergeant I charge of Field Medical Affairs. He has lost considerable weight, due to the worry of flying bullets. Kenny was :nding over a stretcher on which lay AARON BAILEY. He is now a Five Star General and was he ever putting up a fuss, 'ut me down: it's only a scratch! Then he fainted. The crystal ball suddenly clouded up, and as quickly as it clouded it cleared again. The next thing I knew I was tting in a basketball gym. The crowd was shouting More, More as TOM McCALLUM waltzed down the floor with ,e ball. He plays professional basketball for the Globe Trotters. Goose hasn't changed a bitg he is sti,ll up to his ,d tricks. The referee looked as if he should be known. Sure enough, it was VERNON BARNETT. He was shaking his nger so hard at Goose that I thought surely he would lose it. He had just stopped Tom from playing one of his old icks and was giving him just one more chance to straighten up. The game ended with the Globe Trotters winning'b'y large margin. The next scene that appeared was really a fright. Principal JUDY JOHNSTON of MEDARYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL as really teaching up a storm. She was teaching night classes and she was trying to pound some history into MELVIN ORSKI'S thick head. He is the Mayor of Medaryville and he doesn 't even know history yet. How he got to be Mayor ll never know. Really he doesn't know himself. My dream continued on, and the next thing I saw was a plane landing in Chicago Midway Airport. The first per- n to step out was ANITA WAPPEL, who is an Air Line Stewardess. She is known all over the world for her flirting ith the passengers. Just now one of her admirers passed her. No, it can't be! Well, my goodness, it is JERRY IHNSTON who used to be one of the most bashful boys in school. It seems that he is the head of an important trade hool in India, and it took pilot DENNIS EBERI-IART to break it up so that the other passengers could pass on. He still is beautiful, red, curly hair that you can see a mile away. Looking deeper into the ball, I saw BETTY HEATH who operates a Beautician School and always ,has little Boeche's n her road. She has been trying all day to teach NILA HITZ how not to bleach hair green. It seems that Nila made a iistake and bleached Mrs. Wendt's fformerly JUDY SELMERJ hair a hideous, bright green instead of its pretty brown. Appearing next looks like a big farm in Texas. Well, it sure is and the owner is standing out in the middle of the asture. Well, bless my soul, it's LONNIE STEELE who owns those famous Angus Cattle you read so much about. Com- rg out to join him is FLOYD HILTON, who is an important cattle buyer. I hope you sell him some, Lonnie, because ie crystal ball is clouding again. The next vision I saw was somebody bending over a nice looking car. I can't quite make out who the gas station wner is, but he looks like somebody I know. My, it's JACK SANDERS and it seems that he owns all the filling stations 1 Rhode Island. The driver of the car happens to be KAREN GETZ who still can't drive without scaring you to death. he is the head of a children's orphanage nearby and has been doing a fine iob.
