We were initiated on September 14. During the se- cond semester we lost one member of the class, Arlene Davis. During our sophomore year we again had seventeen members, as Betty Wibben had transferred from Gayville. One of the memorable occasions of the year was the crowning of two members of our class, Jeanette Lewison and Ronald Turner, as king and queen of the school's annual carnival. The junior year of our class started with only fifteen members. Norma Bures, Marlene Chris- tensen, and Patty Long had dropped out and a new student, Jim Johnson, had enrolled. We pre- sented our first class play, Mrs. Sam from Roaring Darn, on October 2.7, 1953. By the time the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom was held, May 18, Norma Bures had returned to the class and we numbered sixteen. Two old members of our class were missing as we started our senior year, and one new stu- dent had enrolled. Rachel Tiahrt moved to Oregon and Jeanne Burton was married to a former Meckling student and also moved away. Lavirl Haight filled one vacancy, making the total number of the class fifteen. The senior class play, Constable Jerry from Fulton's Ferry, was presented on March 4. On Ivhy 13 we were guests of the junior class at the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. Baccalaureate on May Z2 and Commencement on Iviay 24 drew the curtain on our high school days tightly closed, but our memories of those wonderful days will always remain.
