MECKLING HIGH SCHDOL CARNIVAL - 4 f The week of March 25-29 was a busy one in Meekling High with everyone preparing for the annual Carnival. Arranging booths, making signs, and doing various other things seemed to keep everyone busy. Finally the big night arrived. The evening began with the usual program. This was presented in the form of a radio program with Phil- ip Natwick acting as master of ceremonies. A few of the acts were: The Phil Harmonic Symphony Orchestra presented by the First and Second Grades, Circusio in the Barnerio presented by the Third and Fourth Grades, Resume' of the song, UOh I Hurtu from a famous opera presented by the Fifth and Sixth Grades, and Guy Lombardo and His Royal Dutch- men presented by the Seventh and Eighth Grades. p There was quite a commotion after the program as everyone wan- dered around to see the various attractions. The booths were a scene of much activity as the evening wore on. Some of the different att- ractions were UBingoU, Uhouse of Terrorn, dart throw, and wonders of wonders! a booth where you could buy all the chances you wanted on ap pair of real NYLONS. p ' 12 o'c1ock soon rolled around and the greatest event of the even- ing---the crowning of the king and queen!! Votes were counted and the Sophomores won by a margin. So Raymond Frank and Lois Jean Christo- pherson reigned supreme for the evening. Then began the drawing for the other prizes. The other winners were: Mr. J.W. Brewer, the chenille bedspreadi Clarence Kniffen, the door prize which was a set of dishes: Joe Clark, the Indian blanket: Mrs. Jeppe Larson, five pounds of sugar: and Betty Johnson, the pair of nylons. JUNIOR CLASS PLAY The Junior Class Play, H0ne Delirious Nightn, was presented April 23. It was under the direction of Mrs. Hoy and Miss Swedberg. The plot revolved around a stolen emerald necklace. The crook with his accomplice furnished much humor. The hero and heroine devise ed strange plans against each other, thinking themselves not in love. In order to complete the cast the Juniors borrowed Verna Lawrence from the Freshman class and Edwin Lutzen from the Sophomore class. p Included in the cast were: Lilly Clark. .................... .. , .......
