English The English Department aims to prepare each student for the language activities he will need during his lifetime. The Department tries to develop an under- standing and appreciation of literature and an ability to communicate through the spoken and written word. Students are urged to explore their own ideas, their emotions, and their reactions to other people and their environment through the use of language as well as literature.
