STANDING: Richard Dolan, Charles Lenahan, Arthur Cotton, Richard Bryant, Burleigh Tibbetts, Robert Chase, Coach Mr. Haden, Jerome Ayers, Roger Sargent, Bruce Caler, Ronald Pratt, Howard Ashby, Rodney Bisbee. Kaskcfball This year we didn't expect to have a very potent basketball team, but much to our surprise we had one of the finest teams ever at, Mechanic Falls High. I might add, if it hadn't been for all the hard work and patience bestowed upon us by what I and the rest of our team consider the best coach ever to be at Mechanic Falls, we probably would have had just another mediocre ball team. Our won and lost record for the over- all season was 17 wins and 4 losses, in- cluding the loss at Lewiston to North Yarmouth Academy. We had a point index of 17. 647 and were seeded fifth at the Western Maine Class M Tour- nament. The highlight of the season took place the night of December 30 when we won over Freeport, the defenders of the Westem Maine Class M cham- pionship, by a score of '76 to 71.
