To Mr. McCauley, we the class of 1955 dedicate this year's HM . His friendly attitude and patient understanding has helped many of us. Mr. McCauley studied at St. Thomas College and the University of Minnesota for his Bachelor of Science degree. He studied one season of portraiture and sculpture at the Art Students' League in New York and attended summer school in art and design at Columbia University, New York. Mr. McCauley has been at Mechanic Arts for fourteen years. In 1942 he left to serve our country but returned in 1945 to resume his duties on Capitol Hill.

Governors Advise and Inspire ix MR. SIMMER Mr. Charles I. Simmer, assistant principal, served in that capacity for the first time this year. He was at Mechanic Arts in 1937, teaching Economic Geography. Mr. Simmer taught at Murray High School in 1958. Mr. Simmer graduated from St. Iohn's Academy in 1933 and from St. Thomas College in 1937. He secured his' Master's Degree at the University of Minnesota in 1951. The United States Navy claimed him for thirty- six months. After that he was an Assistant Professor of Naval Science and Tactics of the Naval ROTC Unit at Oregon State College. He then returned to Murray as assistant football coach in 1947. From there he went to Monroe as Co-ordinator for the On-the-Job-Sales-Training-Program. and also Athletic Director. Mr. Simmer is married and has a two and a half year old son. Building model sl1ips is one of his favorite pastimes. He loves sports and he favors tennis and a little golf now and then. MR. EDBERG Mr. George Edberg, principal of Mechanic Arts, graduated from Grasston High School, Grasston, Minnesota. He attended the University of Minnesota, University of North Dakota, and St. Cloud Teachers College. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. Before Mr. Edberg came to MA he was principal at Dassel, Mabel, and Fertile, Minnesota. He was assistant principal at Iohnson High School, St. Paul. Mr. Edberg has also taught mathematics and physics besides coaching football, basketball and baseball before he became principal. Outside school, Mr. Edberg likes to hunt, fish, play golf, and watch athletic programs. He also takes an active part in his church's activities.
