Babyak, Bob Smith, Doug Birch, Dick McArty, John Harmon, Rex Smith, Howard Collier, and Donald Haughee. BASKETBALL S CHEDULE November 5 Dana 38 Mecca November 8 Marshall 48 Mecca November 13 Hillsdale 22 Mecca November 20 Tangier 32 Mecca November 22 Montezuma 29 Mecca November 27 Bridgeton 39 Mecca December 6 Newport 37 Mecca December ll Bloomingdale 32 Mecca December 13 Rosedale 38 Mecca December 18 Montezuma 36 Mecca January 10 Bellmore 32 Mecca January 21 Rockville 34 Mecca January 28 St. Bernice 23 Mecca In the County Tourney, Mecca was defeated by Bridge- ton by a score of 31-38. The game was closely fought dur- ing the first half with Mecca leading 19-18 but in the sec- ond half they gradually pulled away. Bridgeton was defeated in the final game by Rosedale. The squad was: Ira Paul Maurey, Bob Bartley, Dale Gerrish, Bob Murphy, Junior Naughgles, Bennie Morlan, John Harmon, Donald Haughee, Doug Birch, and Dick McArty. Our B team was one of the four teams entered in the tournament held at Rosedale, January 29 and 30. Thursday night, we played Bridgeton and defeated them by a score of 25 to 21 with Bob Smith as high point man. Friday night, we defeated Montezuma with the score being 13 to 12 in an overtime. The boys who played were: Bob Smith, Eugene McDermott, Rex Smith, Dale Gould, Warren Eubanks, and Jack Harpold. We are really very proud of the boys for winning the tournament for us.
