Boys CC Second In District 1 The Boys Cross Country squad had its' championship aspira- tions marred by injuries. The Chiefs placed second in Edmonds School District I5 meet. Steve Landro led the way with a second place finish and was looking forward to a good show- ing at the state meet. When he suffered a stress fracture. Which put him and the team out of state competition. At the District I5 meet Scott Baker Hnished second in team points, and Greg Isham finished third in team points. The Chiefs harriers will lose only four seniors to graduation and return, Greg Isham, Steve McKerney and Byron King. 3 I I. Steve Landro flashes out to a quick lead, 2. Scott Baker crosses the finish line leaving his competitors in his dust. 3. Greg Isham goes the distance. 4. Neck and neck. Steve McKerney and Brent Eschrich. 5, Their off and running.

Frosh Make The Difference A A young, Girls Cross Country team ran its way to a first-place finish in The Edmonds School District meet and placed sixth in the WESCO meet. The Thinclads placed in five of the top ten spots. Allison Carpenter led the team with a second-place Hnish, while the rest of the Girls were Hfth, eighth, ninth, and tenth. Captain Tami Musgrave 's injury, which kept her out of action for the last couple weeks, didn 't hurt the team, as expected. A group of freshmen Hlled the gap left by Musgrave. The fresh- men really came through for us, said Coach Tom Castle of his surprising sheep runners Jackie Ross, and Cindy Kendrick, who make the future look bright. ,A Back Row left to right: Allison Carpenter, Kari Bachert, Janelle Taylor, Holly Anderson, Kelly Monette.
