By Hnishing 3rd in WESCO, MHS earned the Hnal playoff birth to state. They won 3 playoff games to get to the tinals, including the semi-Hnal game against rival WESCO champs, Cascade, MHS beat Cascade I - 0 on a Hrst half goal by tiny freshman, Hiedi DeCiIlia. The championship went into 2 overtimes with the score tied at two. In the shootout, Meadowdale made 4 shots to Hazen 's 3 to get the one point needed for a 3 - 2 victory and a State Championship. Linda DeBeor scored 2 goals to keep pace with Hazen in regulation time, and Karen Turner ended the game with the Hnal shootout goal.
