Homecoming has always been a time of spirit and enthusiasm, and Homecoming I 98 I was no exception. Spirit Week began with the coronation assembly where Tami Musgrave was named Queen. The rest of the week was filled with spirit. Members of all the classes participated in dressing up for Toga Day, Sweats Day, Punk Day, and Tourist Day. Friday finally arrived and the weeks of preparation came to an exciting climax. The decorated counselors' office, lockers and the gym all added to the overall spirit. The pep assembly featured class skits, presentation of decoration awards and the traditional spirit keg competition. Past and present cheerleaders helped to spark the enthusiasm both at the pep assembly and, later that night, at the football game. The stands were filled with students, alumni, and a spirited band. Choruses of We are M.H.S. filled the air as the Chief's football team defeated the strong Cascade Bruins. Following the game, the Homecoming Dance featured Red Ax which brought Homecoming to a Hnal close. I ,2,3,4.
