ll0 COOK5 Meadowdale Cooks Meadowdale 's cooks are very important. Besides preparing meals for the M.H.5. cafeteria, these cooks also prepare the meals for two district elementary schools. The cooks spend about 35 combined hours a day preparing these three meals. The most difhcult foods to prepare are submarine sandwiches and soup. By far, the easiest is spaghetti. Cook Ruth Tuson washes the many food trays. Cook Irene Wallem prepares to drink her daily supply of moo-juice. K ill? S fisf if a , - VE K 811554 5' '41 fi 2 N X' 52: 1 --11 if fx? . E E . What they don 't realize is that there are many more people involved that are not athletes. The managers, statisticians, and trainer, Kirk Brown. of Meadowdale 's athletic program, contri- bute necessary elements to each sport. Kirk Brown, our trainer, and his assistant, Diane Boivin. do much more than tape ankles and bandage bruises. Kirk works with many athletes in rehabilitation programs. l like to see an athlete go back on the court ll he stated. MH5 is sorry to see him go but Diane will be here to heal the future. The managers and statisticians are very important to a team. They keep records on different events and help the coaches during practices. The statisticians have to keep track of all the numbers, lf it were a basketball game, the person would ha ve to put each shot taken, where it was taken, who took it, and if it were successful, down on a piece of paper, Managers, have to help set up for practices and games. and record all the informa- tion that the statisticians have gathered. They also must help promote team spirit. The effort is sometimes not appreciated, but we at MHS will recognize our great managers and statisti- clans. Meadowdale Custodians Ever wonder why the school always seems to be clean in the morning? Because M.H.5. Custodians are on the job! There is always a custodian available 24 hours a day, doing jobs ranging from changing light bulbs to sweeping floors. According to head custodian Forest Smith, sweeping the floors is the easiest job. lt can 'also be humorous. Can you imagine losing a shoe and not knowing about it? The custodians tind all sorts of objects lying around. They find belts, gloves, and, even shoes. The most time- consuming job that the custodians perform is cleaning all those black- boards and erasers on Friday nights: summer work isn 't much better. But, our custodians keep at it. M.H.S. thanks you. The custodians recognizable trademark. , ff'f mL , 6,,,MmW 'b Custodian Jack Schmidt demonstrates good locker excavation techniques. m mmm ll i i M.H.5.
