What they don 't realize is that there are many more people involved that are not athletes. The managers, statisticians, and trainer, Kirk Brown. of Meadowdale 's athletic program, contri- bute necessary elements to each sport. Kirk Brown, our trainer, and his assistant, Diane Boivin. do much more than tape ankles and bandage bruises. Kirk works with many athletes in rehabilitation programs. l like to see an athlete go back on the court ll he stated. MH5 is sorry to see him go but Diane will be here to heal the future. The managers and statisticians are very important to a team. They keep records on different events and help the coaches during practices. The statisticians have to keep track of all the numbers, lf it were a basketball game, the person would ha ve to put each shot taken, where it was taken, who took it, and if it were successful, down on a piece of paper, Managers, have to help set up for practices and games. and record all the informa- tion that the statisticians have gathered. They also must help promote team spirit. The effort is sometimes not appreciated, but we at MHS will recognize our great managers and statisti- clans.
