Foreign Students o Add 'Zest To M. H.S. Meadowdale 's Foreign Students Club has two main pur- poses. First, club members try to help foreign students gain a better understanding of American people and their customs. The second purpose is to provide mean- ingful activities for both foreign students and American students. The club provided weekly activities which included a Christmas party and a ski trip. The club is advised by Mrs. Burns and led by Senior, Todd Webster. The stu- dents of Meadowdale have made new foreign friends from Chile, France, Hong Kong, South Korea, the Domi- nican Republic, Denmark. 96 M. U. N. Model United Nations Advised by Dr. LeWarne, Model United Nations had a small, yet dedicated group. The members of M,U.N went to conferences and represented for- eign countries. They competed, as foreign nation representatives, against students from many other high schools in the Northwest. The conferences were held at Shorecrest High School. Enlivening the December doldrums, Christmas spirit sprang up in the form of Christmas decorations in some class- rooms. Ornaments hung on the trees outside, and lights blinked merrily in the Commons. The four classes also participated in painting Christmas decorations on Counsel- or ofHce doors. Christmas Spirit The Christmas Assembly was an entertaining and welcome break from classwork, It started with the pre-school kids, known as Chief's Cher- ubs, bravely singing Christmas favorites, including Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. Then The Impressions and Choir, dressed as Carolers, sang Christmas songs. The Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes performed skits, and then, many happy students were dismissed for the Christmas Holidays.
